Glow-and-go with Algenist

Mastering the art of a glow-and-go make-up ‘wardrobe’ is as important as knowing how to style your perfect¬†works-all-the-time outfits with those key throw-on-and-go pieces. It’s illuminating once you know how. And illuminating is just what I have been looking to add to my usual make-up routine. My invitation to Algenist’s latest launch at Soho’s Cutter & Squidge was perfectly timed. Skincare and coffee? What’s not to like?

In my quest to illuminate and radiate I was very intrigued to try out one of Algenist’s latest must-haves, the Elevate eye cream (think eye cream and illuminator all in one) and thank you Algenist for including a jar in our goody bag. This was my first foray into the brand but I can see having posted about my algae and coffee morning on instagram it’s a favourite out there.¬†

It’s not so much the firming and lifting elements of the eye cream that piqued my attention but rather the elegant and gentle shimmer that this cream has thanks to its reflective pigments. It’s a whisper of a sparkle and shine that looks like the sun glistening off the top of the Mediterranean sea at around 5pm. I like the feel of this cream on my skin and the fact that it is devoid of any detectable scent. I’m not really one for before and after pictures because I usually use the response from my friends and family as a litmus test.

Twice in the last two days I have been told my skin looks good. It’s that extra layer of shimmer that’s making me radiate. I use the cream around the eye, sides of my cheek bones and on the bridge of my nose (liberally, I can’t help myself!) both during the day whether I’m on my morning coffee run or going to work as well as for evening looks. Make-up as I said is very much like fashion … don’t save those fabulous pieces for special occasions. Treat every day like a special occasion … after all you don’t need an excuse to shimmer and shine, illuminate and radiate.

Algenist Elevate eye cream available to shop at QVC from 1st July 2016.
